Global motivation
refers to a learner's general reasons to spend time and
effort learning a language
Task motivation refers to how much thought and energy a learner is prepared to use doing an activity. |

is meant by institutional motivation and suggest one way
teachers can affect it positively and one way the can affect
it negatively. |
Institutional motivation
comes from
the
setting in which someone is learning.
Teachers can increase this type of motivation by, for example: Being positive about the school or study centre Making the classroom bright and interesting Designing and using tidy, professional-looking materials Teachers can negatively affect this type of motivation by: Being or looking bored Complaining about the management Using boring and/or untidy materials |
