teacher, learners need at least to be able to:
Ask questions about meaning, form and pronunciation How do I say this word? What does 'suggestive' mean here? Do you say 'everyone like' or 'everyone likes'? Ask for clarification Do we always use the -ing form with this verb? Ask for repetition Could you repeat that, please? Ask for permission Can I go and get some more paper, please? other, learners need to be able to:
Tell (i.e., give information) The past tense is came not come. Explain We have to find the words in the text that mean the same as these phrases here. Ask each other what they think Do you think we should put the house here? Say what they think I don't think that's right. We need a different adjective. Agree and Disagree Yes, I think that right.
